My letter to T-mobile
January 19th, 2010Dear T Mobile,
For the past 6 months, my bills have been very high. This is due to myself and I fully accept. But not once during this period you phoned me to say.
Dear Mr Ajoodha, yours bills are high, why dont you upgrade to get more minutes, SAVE money and sign up for another 12 months. You didnt because you want to make more money out of me.
You say it is my job to upgrade.
Well because of this un pro-active marketing, I will be moving to a new network. I will also move my business mobiles as well. So thanks a lot. BTW your service and customer support is great.
Soon to be Ex customer
How the once great have fallen
July 19th, 2009I dont approve, but you got to love it
July 18th, 2009Why do people hate Man U.
Cheats, glory hunting fans, arrogant, list goes on.
Even though I don’t like what Man City are doing, just to see them have one over on a team which is not really the real city club.
Lets hope that the real North London club can do the same in the near future.
Another Microsoft/Accenture F**kup
July 3rd, 2009Thanks to a blog post from Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols, I read about how the London Stock Exchange is going to dump their LSE (London Stock Exchange)’s Windows-based TradElect system.
I remember reading news when Microsoft got this contract and were so happy about it. But then to hear our good friends at Accenture were involved is not a surprise.
Do Accenture do anything good, from the people they picked from my University it doesnt come at a surprise they fail at a lot of things.
Dipsy Women
June 30th, 2009Or maybe the BBC has realised that filling the audience with these women, will bring more viewers…
Another Ski Centre messup
June 24th, 2009I have a tendency to go on to sites and not looking for errors or bugs, but they come and find me. Normally I find an error and the website admin normally thanks me and fixes the bug. But the new ski center in Hemel Hempstead have really annoyed me. I pointed a massive error on their gallery on their launch site and was never fixed, or given a thankyou.
Now while looking at their website to see if I wanted to go, I found this.
This was my response
I have pointed out a problem on your website before and I didn’t get a thank you. Well go to job vacancies page and just press send. You will see a big error on top of the page. Your website is a complete joke and if that is a reflection on how you run the ski center I fear for my safety.
I will not mention names, but the company they use for website development, is another website for dummies candidate.
Everyone can build a website, just not very good it seems.
I think it is time for a change Go
June 13th, 2009Super Faster Websites
June 7th, 2009An interesting even-faster-web-sites-presentation from Steve Souders.
It is regarding how to make website even faster, simplifying CSS selectors.
Using applications like Yslow you can see what is slowing up your website.
But my question is, Is all this worth it to your clients? Saying to your client that you have speeded up your site by 2 seconds, will most likely not interest them. Especially if they are viewing on their corporate fast Internet and not any of their customers, restricted Virgin or BT broadband connection.
My Top Tip is just to do your CSS and HTML in clean and efficient and avoiding items like “descendant selectors”. If you are doing something like a mobile website where speed is esstential these speed tips will help greatly.
Usability is not always best
June 6th, 2009Now as a web site developer specifically on the front end, I always drum on about usability sometimes to the annoyance of my colleagues and friends. But looking at this quote today has made me think.
Maybe usability is not always best and maybe that can apply to websites as well. If an usability engineer designed a website it might end up like the http://www.w3.org/ website ;), I bit 1990s.
My 50cents is probably an in-between, a good design and good usability, the best of both worlds.
